Shooting people that have acting and fashion skills, is always appealing to me. If, on the one hand, representation gives them expressive skills, fashion gives greater knowledge and ease with the body.
Matilde Reymão isn’t exactly a surprise for me. I met her in 2016 when she was still a new face and with little experience. But from that first impression, I immediately got that “this girl has got something” feeling, you know?
I think Inês was actually the first actress I shot… hope I’m not getting this wrong… anyway, the fact is, our paths have crossed more than once in different stages of our careers…
I can’t get enough of saying how important proactivity is on a model. But let me detail it a little more and give you a very practical example…
One of the biggest challenges with shooting actresses is Time. They always seem to be running from one place to the other, in between filming, or rehearsals or some of their daily routine responsibilities (yes, they are humans and they also have personal responsibilities they have to attend to).
I’ve always heard that life is simple, yet, it seems we always find ways of making it complex. And while I try to incorporate that simplicity in my life, passing that to my work, seems to be slightly harder.
“Helsinki in August, swimwear in November… what’s wrong with you?” some may ask. Well, seasons ain’t what they used to be anymore. Or maybe, the climate changes have been messing around with my head as well…
I think I’m developing a special admiration for women who don’t mind showing photos of themselves unretouched, with minimal make up or no make up at all.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that came into effect on the past 25th of May is something that, according to several polls, most people are still unaware of. Over this last weeks, you may have received several e-mails from companies and brands…
It’s been a while since I last shot a fashion editorial, actually… it’s been almost a year! And there were several reasons why it took me this long… but let’s focus on what made me shoot this one.
Getting married is not exactly something I plan for the near future, but every time I see Pureza Mello Breyner’s new collections, I can’t help but wonder…
Chestnuts! That's one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of my favourite things about this Fall season. Immediately after that...
Remember this previous post where I shared some location snaps? Well, the collection is out and I can finally share it!
Who said that bridal or wedding related photography was boring, clearly doesn’t know Pureza Mello Breyner Atelier!
I've covered the typical topics about modeling (model career, styling, make up) , but there are another two, that are usually disregarded by young people and models: sports and nutrition.
At least once a year, I reorganize and update my website/portfolio. Deciding which photos to leave out and which to keep is always a nightmare.
It’s always a nice when you get the chance to meet models passing by Portugal, even if they are just enjoying their vacations. And the most recent, was this Dutch beauty, Miranda.
A few months ago, I had the pleasure of shooting the tv presenter, Cláudia Borges. The purpose of this shooting, was to make the cover of the July edition of the Portuguese magazine Zen Energy, as well as some images to go along with the interview Cláudia did for this same magazine (you can check the cover here).
Tips, tricks and shortcuts to achieve something, can be displayed in several ways and the easiest to do it, would be to just list a few of the most common topics. But if you google around a bit, I'm sure you'll find lots of blog posts and websites with those lists. That's why I think talking to people who are actually in the business, can be more helpful.
On the first part of this post, I asked the opinion of a highly experienced model. This time, I thought that a stylist's opinion could also be useful to you.
There is this common misconception that actresses/actors are easy to shoot and that whatever you do, they will always look fabulous. That couldn't be more wrong!
I would like to be able to say the number of people i've shot during the years, but i don't really know. And i'm not even sure a number would be that relevant.
