(NSFW) White Reverie
If you’ve been following this blog, you’ve probably realised that the “Musings” series is one of my dearest projects. Though I don’t promote it much, it’s a series that has been going on for about 3 years and despite the fact that it doesn’t have a wider audience reach, it does have a meaningful impact on the women who take part of it.
On one of the last shootings I did for this series, I realised that the woman I was going to shoot, besides a notable pride about her body, was one of those people that moved in a very natural and gracious way in front of the camera. Watching Sylwia from a distance, one could probably think she was a dancer or maybe a gymnast. But no, Sylwia is just a woman who was self-confident enough, to move freely and unconcernedly in front of the camera.
From that first impression I thought that this time, I should also take a different approach and instead of trying steady shots, I should explore the graciousness of Sylwia's moves, the smoothness of her body, just like a character from a faded reverie.

Quem tem seguido este blog, provavelmente já percebeu que a série "Musings" é um dos meus projectos mais "especiais". Embora não promova muito esta série, a verdade é que já dura há cerca de 3 anos e mesmo não tendo assim uma audiência significativa, o que realmente importa é o impacto que causa nas mulheres que participam nela.
Numa das últimas sessões que fiz para esta série, apercebi-me que a mulher que ía fotografar, além de um notável orgulho no seu corpo, era uma daquelas pessoas que se movia com uma naturalidade e graciosidade tal, que quem não a conhecesse, pensaria muito provavelmente, que se tratava de uma ginasta ou bailarina. Mas não, a Sylwia é apenas uma mulher com auto-confiança suficiente, para se mover de forma livre e descontraída em frente da câmera.
Mas, partindo dessa primeiro impressão, achei que desta vez, deveria experimentar uma abordagem diferente e em vez de fotografias mais estáticas, procurei "congelar" os movimentos graciosos da Sylwia, enquanto ela se mexia e rodopiava, tal e qual uma personagem saída de um sonho distante.
