(NSFW) "Musings" series - The Women
The "Musings" series is something about which I could talk for hours. But I promised to keep these posts short, so in the previous one, I didn't talk much about the Women in the photos.
Who are they and why can't you see their faces?
Unfortunately, we still live in a very conservative society and for that reason, I decided to keep these women's identity private. Furthermore, the purpose of this series isn't to take photos of "Mary" or "Jane". For this series purpose, I think it's much more relevant what they are, than who they are!
What are they? Women! Brave ones, I must add. They are the "girl next door", they are the unknown women you pass by on the street, proud of their femininity and their bodies, and willing to face certain types of vulnerabilities, that most people are just not brave enough to acknowledge.
They are Women who understand that their body is just a part of who they are, that can and should be admired, just like you do when looking at bodies in paintings or sculptures in a museum or art gallery.

A série "Musings" é daqueles assuntos, sobre o qual poderia falar durante horas. Mas prometi manter os posts curtos e no que fiz anteriormente, acabei por não falar muito das Mulheres por detrás destas fotos.
Quem são elas e porque é que não se vê a cara delas?
Infelizmente, ainda vivemos numa sociedade bastante conservadora e por esse motivo, decidi manter o anonimato delas. Além disso, o propósito desta série, não é tirar fotografias da "Maria" ou da "Joana". Por isso, aquilo que elas são, acaba por ser mais relevante do que quem são.
O que são elas? Mulheres! Corajosas, devo acrescentar! Elas são a "rapariga da porta ao lado", elas são as desconhecidas por quem passamos na rua, orgulhosas da sua feminilidade e dos seus corpos e com vontade de enfrentar certas vulnerabilidades, que a maioria das pessoas nem chegam a admitir ter.
Elas são Mulheres que compreendem que o corpo é apenas uma parte delas e que pode e dever admirado, da mesma forma que se admiram os corpos pintados ou esculpidos, que se encontram em museus ou em galerias de arte.
